I’m Adam, and I’m a Senior Android Engineer.
I’ve been working in Android for 5 years now. I taught myself how to program and was lucky enough to get an internship at Flypay, and my career grew from there. I then lead the Android team at Blockchain, and I’m proud of what we were able to achieve during a period of absolutely wild growth. More recently, I worked at Freetrade and helped launch the MVP of their Android app, and I’m now at Cuvva, helping define their culture and best practises to be able to scale the team to a dozen or more Android engineers.
I’m a huge advocate of Kotlin, functional programming and RxJava. I’m also interested in security and cryptography with enough knowledge to know not to do anything myself, and I’m big on mentorship, open source and knowledge sharing within engineering. I am also in a constant battle between mechanical keyboards and my wallet.
My goal in the next year is to be nominated as a Google Developer Expert, so expect to see a fair bit of content from me. I’ve been saying the same for a few years, but now I’m going to actually make it happen.
Questions? Fancy a chat about Android/Kotlin/anything at all? The best place to catch me is on Twitter.
